Hinzman Strong At The Plate As Greenwood Christian Lady Hawks Varsity Defeats Calhoun Falls Charter
Caroline Hinzman was dialed in at the plate on Tuesday, tallying four hits and leading Greenwood Christian Lady Hawks Varsity to a 15-5 win over Calhoun Falls Charter. Hinzman singled in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.
Calhoun Falls Charter scored three runs in the first inning, but Greenwood Christian Lady Hawks Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Calhoun Falls Charter came thanks to singles by Stan B and Rebecca F.
Calhoun Falls Charter opened up an early lead in the first inning when F singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Greenwood Christian Lady Hawks Varsity took the lead for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second Alex Langley grounded out, scoring one run, Emma Knight singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, and Hinzman doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Jessica Rearden led things off in the circle for Greenwood Christian Lady Hawks Varsity. She went six innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out ten.
B started the game for Calhoun Falls Charter. She surrendered three runs on three hits over one inning, striking out one and walking zero. Olivia R threw five innings in relief.
